Mr. Stamstad
7 - 12 Math Teacher
Assistant Cross Country Coach
Junior High Boys Basketball Coach
Hey everybody! My name is Mr. Stamstad and I am the new 7-12 math teacher at Wilton Public School. This is my first year of teaching, and could not be more excited! I have high expectations, both for myself and my students. I also bring a passion and excitement to teaching that you don't typically find from a math teacher.
I love math. I love being able to look at a problem and apply what I've learned to try and solve it. It is my great hope that I will be able to teach my students this same quality. Math is a difficult subject for some people, but I believe that sometimes the "thought-process" is what holds them back. I have seen, far too often, a student or peer look at a problem, and instantly give up. I am a big supporter of problem-solving. Although students may not use everything they learn in my class, it is the process of problem-solving that I wish to teach. Being able to look at a problem, identify what is being asked, what information is given, and finally using skills that have been learned will get you a long way in life.
I also love running. I ran Cross Country and Track for the University of Mary, and my passion for running has grown throughout my entire life. I am greatly honored and excited for the opportunity to help coach the Cross Country team this fall. I hope to instill at least some love of physical activity in my athletes, so that they continue to stay active after their time at Wilton is done.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me at: [email protected]. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
